British musician Dr Lin Lin has established herself as one of today's most versatile musicians, performing solo and chamber recitals in major concert halls and music festivals across Europe and Asia. She has performed at prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Blackheath Great Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and Fazioli Concert Hall. With over 15 years of teaching experience in music, she has mentored numerous students who have been admitted to prestigious music conservatories. Dr Lin Lin is the Artistic Director at the WOMCO world online music competitions organisation. Her transition to a career in musical arts was featured in the documentary film Great Britain, "Great Experience", produced by the Cultural and Education Section British Embassy in China in 2015.

 

Dr Lin Lin earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the Royal College of Music, with both Piano and Flute. She also holds an MFA from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and a PhD in music performance from Goldsmiths, University of London.

 

Since 2013, she has actively collaborated with composers in the creation of new art music. Her recent recordings include Soft Light and Book of Dreams, featuring Basil Athanasiadis' new flute compositions. She has also performed with King's Choir for the premiere of John Rutter’s Second Farewell to Cambridge and collaborated with Trinity Symphony for Sandy Clark’s flute concerto Hua Mulan Saga.

 

Beyond her musical career, Dr Lin Lin earned a Master's degree in Science & Engineering, having studied Materials Science and Engineering at Queen Mary University of London, from which she graduated with first-class honours in 2009. She was the only student in her year to have a research essay published.
